FAQs

Life takes our alumni to all corners of the globe, and oftentimes graduates need help with records, status changes and more. If you're looking for information and you can't find the answer, check the questions below or contact the Advancement division directly.

  • How can I get a DU alumni pin?

Signal your alumni pride with a special lapel pin featuring the DU shield emblem, representing strength and longevity. According to tradition, if you meet another alumni without a pin, you're to give yours to that alumnus and order another for yourself, which you can do by contacting the Alumni Engagement Office at 303-871-4108.

  • How can I get a DU alumni license plate?

If you're an alum residing in Colorado, you can obtain a DU-themed license plate from the state DMV, which requires payment of $50 for customized plates. We also ask that alumni wanting a DU license plate make a donation between $25 and $50 to the school's Merit Scholarship Fund using the License Plate Request Form. Once you've completed the form and your donation, we'll provide the DMV with the proper certification to get you your license plate.

  • How do I update my contact information with the University?

If your address or other personal information has changed, please contact us or fill out this form.

  • What's an alumni ID card, and how do I get one?

Alumni cards are provided free of charge, granting DU graduates a 10 percent discount at the DU bookstore and access to check out up to 25 items from University libraries. The card also permits you to access the school's digital databases while on campus.

  • Can the alumni engagement team help me find someone?

We can! Many alumni contact us for help finding a friend from their time at DU, though we cannot give out contact information without permission. Simply email us with as much information as you can provide on the person you're seeking (name, year of graduation, area of study).

  • What happened to my DU email address?

IT@DU is excited to announce that beginning in July 2021, all new alumni of the University of Denver will automatically retain their DU email (firstname.lastname@du.edu). These changes do not apply to Law alumni with a law school email address.

    • Existing alumni who already have an @alumni.du.edu email account will retain their alumni email address
    • Alumni who graduated prior to June 2021 can request an @du.edu email account by visiting this link.

Please note that if the email account is not used regularly, it will be closed after one year of inactivity.

For more information on the University's policies regarding email use, please see: https://www.du.edu/it/about/it-policies

*If you have any questions or need your DU ID password reset, please contact the IT Help Center at 303-871-4700.
